Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Remastered looks to be bringing the first two games in the storied skating series to today’s platforms.
The news comes directly from Tony Hawk himself, who’s apparently been sending out teaser texts to fans who previously contacted him as part of an event – for lack of a better word – where he shared his phone number publicly. As Nibel spotted, several Twitter users have shared screenshots of the same text, which reads:
“Hey I have a surprise and wanted to tell you first: we are bringing back Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2! Original maps, original skaters, and songs from the original soundtrack, plus new features! The game looks awesome and will be officially announced soon.”
Assuming Hawk’s texts are legit – and strange as they are, there is reason to believe them – we should see Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Remastered revealed quite soon. In fact, these texts line up with the first proper reveal of Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest event, which is scheduled for today, May 12. To add fuel to the fire, Keighley took to Twitter to ask fans about their favorite game for the original PlayStation, just to hammer home the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater connection.
This is quite the strange surprise, especially since Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD already exists, and it’s an even stranger announcement, but I guess anything goes with this year’s substitute E3 2020 schedule. We’ll update this story as we learn more about Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Remastered, so stay tuned.
