Google Ads Transparent Tracking

This topic explains the Google Ads click path through FourLook and the strict transparent next-hop behavior reviewers expect.

Flow

  • Google Ads click → FourLook tracker → advertiser landing page

How the redirect works

  • When a user clicks an advertising link configured through FourLook, the request is received by the FourLook tracking endpoint. FourLook records the applicable tracking and attribution information and then redirects the user to the destination URL specified by the tracking request.
  • In strict transparent modes, that destination is redirection_url.

Examples

  • https://click.fourlook.com/gads-click?redirection_url=https%3A%2F%2Fadvertiser.com%2Flanding
  • https://brand.com/GGADS/?redirection_url={lpurl}&gclid={gclid}&gbraid={gbraid}&wbraid={wbraid}&campaignid={campaignid}&adgroupid={adgroupid}&creative={creative}&device={device}&matchtype={matchtype}&keyword={keyword}

Strict mode rules

  • No Split routing
  • No backend offer/landing-page rotation for the Google transparent click
  • No cloaking destination changes
  • No device/geo/browser/operator redirects
  • No fallback destinations
  • Redirect target equals redirection_url except for fl_click_id

Reviewer page

  • See /google-ads-click-tracking for the dedicated certification-oriented page.
