URL Parameters

Tracking URLs can carry parameters that identify the click, campaign context, advertising platform macros, and customer-defined tokens.

Common parameters

  • redirection_url — declared next-hop destination for transparent Google tracking
  • gclid, gbraid, wbraid — Google click identifiers when present
  • campaignid, adgroupid, creative, device, matchtype, keyword — Google Ads macros when present
  • Traffic-source and custom campaign tokens configured by the customer
  • Cost parameters when configured for a traffic source
  • fl_click_id — FourLook-owned click correlation parameter appended to destinations in transparent modes

Validation for Google transparent modes

  • redirection_url is required.
  • It must be an absolute HTTPS URL.
  • Double-encoded absolute URLs, localhost, IP hosts, and unsafe characters are rejected.
